- Prepare food according to the method and instructions as given by the supervisor and to keep the work area clean
- Set up of various stations, ensure that each station is replenished, clean and sanitized during each meal period
- Assist with various kitchen tasks; production, cleaning projects, plating and other projects as needed
- Able to follow directions and instructions to complete task assigned
- Maintain personal cleanliness; meet health and sanitation requirements including wearing a hat/hairnet, apron & gloves, and hand washing as required by assigned tasks and Massachusetts Health & Sanitation codes
- Serve meals in a polite and courteous manner. Help and provide campers with items needed, as well as communicate with the kitchen any needs
- Help to set, replenish and maintain the Beverage Bar area throughout the day
- Package and store food as directed
- Wash dishes on a regular basis
- Sweep and mop the kitchen area and remove garbage after each meal
- Assist in handling deliveries, and keeping storage areas clean and organized
- Work with the other staff in the department at scheduled cleaning times to clean the kitchen
- Communicate any feedback, issues or needs in a timely manner to Kitchen manager and personnel
- Assist other Food Service Staff when requested
- Be open to guidance, direction and feedback from supervisors
- Notify the staff in charge of inventory and ordering when supplies are running low
- Report any malfunctions in equipment to the supervisor
- Assist in the cleaning and sanitation of the Dining Hall, kitchen, equipment and other areas when required
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as scheduled
- Follow all camps protocols, policies and standards
- Maintain a friendly, cooperative rapport with guests and staff
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Must be 18 years of age and/or have graduated from high school by the start of camp
- Prior experience in customer service, food service, or other related areas is preferred
- Prior experience with one of our programs or with another camp program is preferred
- Prefer candidates who can commit to the full summer; however, we will work with staff to accommodate scheduling conflicts
- Must be able to provide proof of a physical within the last 18 months and proof that you are up to date on all required immunizations
