Senior Technician Role
This position is responsible for managing our hardware engineering laboratory, testing and verification of design changes that will improve quality and direct material savings of Immunoassay and Urine Analysis instruments used in the Diagnostics market.
You will be part of the Value Engineering team located in Chaska and report to the Senior Manager responsible for Value Engineering, Product Reliability, and End-of-Life component management for legacy hardware products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain lab equipment and manage instrument availability, including calibration and preventative maintenance.
- Support design teams by conducting feasibility and verification testing, executing test protocols to ensure quality and performance.
- Write technical reports with high-level analysis and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in a relevant field (e.g., electronics, biomedical technology) with 3 years of documented experience in a laboratory setting.
- Demonstrated proficiency operating various medical diagnostic instruments (e.g., blood analyzers, centrifuges, spectrophotometers). Proven experience executing and documenting hardware test protocols with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage three or more ongoing projects/tasks simultaneously, maintaining accurate records, adhering to established procedures, and meeting quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience testing new designs and design change verification processes for medical instruments.
- Comfort working with computer-controlled diagnostic equipment.
- Familiarity with problem-solving techniques like 5 whys and fishbone diagrams.
