What You’ll Be Doing

• Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products
• Build, Modify and maintain Safety programs for use in the facility.
• Studies and reviews engineering documents and designs prior to fabrication and materials procurement
• Manages lead times and project timelines.
• Reviews documentation and schematics to project accurate lead times; uses feedback, as well as field information to assess definitive times as to the length of a project. 
• Sets timely goals for each stage of production.
• Set department objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports
• Report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required
• Manage and lead the team, ensuring adequate staffing levels, recruitment, training, development, appraisal, attendance, and disciplinary issues
• Provide technical expertise to the team
• Plans manufacturing operations, establishing priorities and sequences for producing products in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
• Reviews manufacturing and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
• Resolves employee issues.
• Motivate and lead a high-performance production team; attract, recruit, and retain required members of the team not currently in place; provide mentoring to junior members or the team.
• Train and mentors team members on Continuous Improvement Tools and Techniques
• Ensures plant cleanliness and organization with a focus on continually improving shop floor organization

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience
• Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory position
• Technical ability with attention to detail
• Excellent communications
• Must have the ability to travel (approximately 10% of the time)

Work Environment

This position operates in an office environment with equal time in the plant.  The employee is regularly exposed to a variety of conditions within the plant.  The noise level is usually moderate.  Will be exposed to manufacturing conditions including heat in the summer months and cold in the winter months.
