Job Summary:
The Store Warehouse Lead is responsible for a variety of tasks within the warehouse environment, including locating inbound material, picking and packing orders for both internal and customer orders, processing outbound shipments, and kitting materials according to work order instructions. This position requires proficiency in using bar code reading equipment and basic desktop computer applications to complete necessary transactions. The role also demands attention to detail, physical strength, and the ability to follow warehouse procedures to maintain efficiency and accuracy.
Work Performed:
Inbound Unloading / Locating:
- Unload all inbound shipments efficiently and accurately.
- Locate materials within the warehouse and sales floor, ensuring proper storage.
- Operate equipment such as hand trucks, forklifts, and/or Drexels as required.
- Use RF Bar Coding Scanners for inventory processing.
- Ensure accurate count and placement of materials in designated rack/bin locations.
- Transfer materials between warehouse locations or to kitting areas as needed.
Picking / Consolidation / Packing / Kitting:
- Utilize RF equipment to retrieve materials from identified locations and transport them to packing stations or consolidation areas.
- Accurately package customer orders, ensuring all items and quantities match the order.
- Print and attach packing slips to customer orders.
- Apply necessary markings to cartons as per customer requirements.
- Use forklifts, Drexels, or hand trucks when necessary.
- Ensure orders are fully processed before moving to the next stage.
- Perform kitting operations per Bill of Materials and work instructions when assigned.
- Process consignment transactions as requested by office personnel.
Outbound Package Processing:
- Process customer packages using appropriate shipping manifest systems (e.g., Clippership, UPS, FedEx).
- Ensure that materials are shipped via the correct carrier and method in accordance with established processes.
- Secure palletized orders as required and prepare them for shipment with common carriers.
- Load carrier trucks as needed.
- Use forklifts, Drexels, or hand trucks to assist in processing shipments.
General Duties:
- Follow all relevant documentation and processes related to work functions.
- Maintain high standards for safety, quality, and productivity in all tasks.
- Ensure accurate inventory transactions and uphold inventory accuracy.
- Report any discrepancies in item accuracy, equipment issues, or safety concerns to Team Leaders/Supervisors.
- Keep work areas clean and organized; merchandise material (block and face) as needed and maintain supply levels at packing stations.
- Maintain a daily safety and status log for forklifts and electric hand trucks; ensure proper charging as required.
- Charge RF scanner batteries daily.
- Attend required training sessions.
- Support all areas of the business as necessary and adapt to changing priorities.
- Perform inventory cycle counts to ensure accurate stock levels.
- Assist customers with order entries using CRM and manage inbound phone calls, maintaining high customer service levels.
- Maintain an organized and clean workspace.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous warehouse operation experience preferred but not required.
- Must maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic to intermediate PC skills or willingness to be trained.
- Forklift/Drexel certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently.
- Comfortable working at high locations (up to 18 feet above ground).
- Ability to maintain a high level of physical activity, including walking, pulling, lifting, and moving.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
