What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional (DSP) - FULL-TIME and PART-TIME available position at Become A DSP?
We are looking to hire Direct Support Professionals to help provide quality care to the people who have intellectual or developmental disabilities. The ideal candidates are compassionate, responsible and have a strong commitment to providing excellent care. The right candidate is empathetic, self-motivated and has a genuine interest in helping others.
Summit DD is collaborating with Provider Agencies in Summit County to assist them in their search for the right DSP to provide safe and supported care for the individuals in their programs.
Responsibilities (Will vary by agency, but may include):
- Following the plans laid out in each person’s Individual Service Plan
- Assisting individual(s) with daily living skills
- Assisting individual(s) with job specific skills
- Assisting individual(s) with engaging in daily chores
- Teach/support relationship building skills
- Teach/support problem solving skills/conflict resolution
- Perform daily record keeping
- Providing individual(s) with opportunities for community engagement/outings- such as: the Zoo, movies, grocery store, parks, etc.
Requirements
- Valid Ohio driver's license with fewer than 4 points
- Reliable transportation and car insurance
- Ability to pass a background check
- High school diploma or GED
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
