What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Direct Support Professional position at Become A DSP?
· Summit DD is collaborating with Providers in Summit County to assist them in their search for experienced DSPs (Direct Support Professionals) to provide safe & supported care for the individuals in their programs.
· Qualifications
o High school diploma or GED
o 2 years working in the DD field with individuals with high behavior needs
o Current valid Ohio driver’s license
o Must clear a current background check through the BCI/FBI
o Motivated to learn and grow in role
o Reliable and punctual
o Excellent oral and written communication, instruction, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem-solving, decision making and organizational skills
· Job responsibilities
o Review behavior plans and instructional materials to ensure consistent implementation and monitor outcomes
o Perform daily record keeping
o Assisting individual(s) with daily living skills, household duties, and personal care
o Providing individual(s) with opportunities for community engagement/outings
o Providing appropriate crisis intervention as necessary using the least restrictive method by anticipating and responding quickly to escalating behaviors, utilizing appropriate de-escalation techniques to diffuse the situation, correctly prioritizing safety concerns, following proper physical restraint techniques, and displaying neutral emotions
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: Up to $17.00 per hour
