POSITION: Logistics Specialist
SERVICE: Transportation
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Logistics Specialist plays a key role in supporting the operations of our Secured Document Destruction business. This position involves operating the mobile shred truck, ensuring safe and efficient document destruction, and delivering exceptional customer service. On occasion, the role may require assistance with on-site events at The Backdrop, ensuring a positive event and guest experience. The ideal candidate will be a reliable and customer-focused individual, able to multitask and work flexibly to meet business demands.

SALARY: $24/hr
STATUS: M-F Full-Time; Non-Exempt. Occasional weekends and evenings.
CRITICAL JOB FUNCTIONS

DOCUMENT DESTRUCTION
- Assists with oversight of document destruction operations.
- Provide professional, courteous, and timely service to customers. Address any questions or concerns and ensure customer satisfaction during service.
- Efficiently plan and follow daily routes, ensuring timely arrival and completion of scheduled services.
- Ensure strict confidentiality of all materials being shredded, maintaining high standards of privacy and security for clients’ sensitive information.
- Safely and efficiently load and unload materials for shredding, following established procedures to maintain security and confidentiality.
- Maintains records and submits accurate reports as required by BI, vendors, and related agencies.
- Maintain daily financial reports for accounting.
- Maintain and schedule service tickets.
- Schedule in-person shred services and live shredding.
PROVIDE SUPPORT & TRAINING TO PERSONS SERVED
- Provides guidance and hands-on instruction to support skill development, independence (and, when needed, personal care). This role also involves coaching individuals in customer service and various aspects of our Shredding and Social Enterprise services.
- Transport persons served as needed to and from work, community activities/appointments/errands, etc.
- Provides shadowing opportunities for new staff (on the job training).
VEHICLE EXPECTATIONS/DOCUMENTATION
- Operate the mobile shred truck, box truck, and other transportation vehicles safely while adhering to all legal and BI vehicle/transportation procedures.
- Perform and maintain daily records of specified safety and maintenance inspections.
- Maintain mileage, gas, time, and work records as directed.
- Report any vehicle or equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to management promptly for repairs and maintenance.
- Ensures inspection and cleanliness of the vehicle before/after each use.
- Triplog application (with Magic Trip enabled) must be used for all personal vehicle and fleet mileage driven during your scheduled work day. Trips must be reviewed, corrected, and submitted daily or at the start of the next shift.
- Applicable inspections performed via Fleetio application prior to usage of any BI vehicle at any time.
KEEPING RECORDS AND REPORT WRITING
- Completes monthly trainings within the provided time frame.
- Time and Attendance records (ADP) - Responsible for daily punches for all shifts/applicable breaks and daily review of timecards/corrections/edits (notes).
- Records data relative to tasks (BI information platforms; Therap/ISP data, ADP, TripLog, etc).
- ADP for Persons Served - Responsible for all data entered daily (volunteer/paid work/community access) - If unable to complete same day will enter first thing next shift.
- Maintain individual progress records; write and submit accurate reports as per procedures.
- Writes General Event Reports (GER).
- Company email must be checked during each shift. Email responses are expected within 24 hours or at your next scheduled shift (for emails where you are the only recipient). Text message correspondence must be replied to during your shift.
- Google Calendars/Daily Schedule - All staff must ensure either their Google Calendar or their daily schedule is reflective of all activities during working hours.
- Attend, actively engage, and participate in weekly staff meetings, training sessions, and other relevant meetings.
THE BACKDROP ON-SITE SUPPORT - AS NEEDED
- Be the point of contact for guests, assisting with directions, answering questions, and ensuring guests have a positive experience.
- Operate and troubleshoot audiovisual equipment (microphones, projectors, and screens) to ensure equipment is in working order during the event.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
CREDENTIALS/LICENSES: Class C State of California driver’s license with clean driving record.
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE:
- Prior experience in operating oversized/commercial vehicles preferred
- Knowledge of EZ Shred software preferred
- Intermediate to Advanced level skills in Microsoft Office preferred
- Intermediate to Advanced level skills in Google Mail, Google Calendar, and Google Drive preferred
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language used in the workplace (English)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- A physical condition that will permit frequent bending, squatting, turning, and lifting without injury.
- Ability to operate a vehicle for a portion of your shift.
- Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to assist individuals in wheelchairs.
- Provide personal care to individuals, including assistance in the restroom and feeding.
- Lift at least 40 pounds.
- Clearance of pre-employment Functional Capacity Evaluation with no restrictions that cannot be reasonably accommodated without undue hardship.
MAY REQUIRE ONE OR ALL:
- Valid California Class C driver’s license with clean driving record
- Insured, dependable vehicle that can successfully pass BI’s vehicle inspection
- Proof of current auto insurance
- Criminal Record Clearance
- Santa Rosa Police Department Record Background Clearance
- Must be at least 21 years old
- First aid and CPR certification (will provide training)
