Job Summary:
Supervises daily Housekeeping operations, including staffing, ordering supplies, directing work assignments compliant with Company Policies, State and Federal Regulations; must communicate courteously and respectfully with Facility staff, Residents, family members and others
Qualifications:
Must have experience in Housekeeping position, preferably supervisory position in a long-term care Facility; must be able to obtain any required certificates; must be in good physical condition, able to read and write at a level necessary to accomplish job duties; must pass drug screens and have a satisfactory Criminal History Background Check
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervises and assists Housekeeping staff in all aspects of cleaning the Facility’s interior, exterior and grounds
- Requisitions, orders, receives and checks in supplies and equipment; organizes storage of equipment and supplies; maintains necessary inventory within budget
- Ensures Residents’ rooms are safe, comfortable and attractively maintained
- Cleans all spills on floor immediately; corrects and/or reports to the Maintenance Supervisor any safety hazard, equipment, accident or incident involving Employees or Residents
- Assists the Administrator as requested with developing a Plan of Correction for any Housekeeping Deficiencies issued during State or Federal Surveys
- Directs and assists with periodic cleaning and sanitizing of wheelchairs and other equipment as scheduled, needed or assigned; ensures cleaning schedules are followed
- Completes forms, reports, evaluations; when requested, assists Administrator with review of Housekeeping Policies and recommends any needed changes
- Assists co-workers with lifting, moving supplies and equipment as needed; functions as a working Supervisor with all Housekeeping duties as work requires
- As requested, works with Social Services and Activity Department in planning special holiday activities
- Is required to be on call as needed and especially during emergency conditions and situations
- Communicates with co-workers in all Departments to meet the needs of the Residents
