Job Summary:
Provides Nursing Care to Nursing Home Residents; supervises other LPN’s and Nurse Aides.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Administers medications and treatments as ordered; takes vital signs
- Provides information regarding changes in Residents’ progress to the RN Supervisor
- Stocks and prepares medication cart for rounds
- Charts Residents’ progress, ailment, medication, symptoms, incidents and observations
- Schedules and provides treatments as recommended by Physician and at a time convenient for the Resident
- Assists with Resident ADL Care as required
- Performs physical observations of Residents and reports to RN; documents findings in medical record
- Receives and records Physicians’ Orders in medical record; ensures compliance with Physician’s Orders
- Communicates with other Departments to adequately meet Residents’ needs
- Assists in Infection Control monitoring; complies with Universal Precautions and Isolation Procedures
- Observes, monitors instructs and supervises Nurse Aides
Qualifications and Skills:
Practical Nursing License in good standing in the State of Mississippi; prefer experience in Long-Term Care Nursing with comprehensive knowledge of Nursing techniques and their relation to medical practices and skills and their application, with thorough knowledge of principles and practices of Long-Term Care.
