What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian position at Bedford County Administration?
Bedford County's Department of Public Works is currently accepting applications for a full time Custodian to work in the Housekeeping Division. Salary from $13.91/hour and up based on experience. Hours are 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM, Monday – Friday.
Candidate will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining County buildings and facilities. Typical tasks include: sweeping/mopping/vacuuming floors; removing trash; cleaning windows, walls, lavatories, fixtures, etc. This position requires the physical endurance to lift 50 lbs.
Candidate must have ability to understand and follow specific oral instructions; knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment, with ability to use them economically and efficiently; and a valid Commonwealth of Virginia driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
