Description :
The position is for a Special Education liaison to work within the Lane School Bridge program, a social / emotional therapeutic program serving grades 3-5. This position will primarily include overseeing small group instruction for students who are unable to access the inclusion setting for targeted areas. Additionally, the position includes working collaboratively with the Bridge team (including the BCBA, counselor, and inclusion liaison) and cooperating classroom teachers and administrators. The Bridge program uses positive reinforcement and direct skill instruction techniques to increase inclusion opportunities, coping skills, and positive social connections with peers across settings.
Responsibilities : Instruction
- Develop and implement schedules for students' services in accordance with their IEPs' service delivery.
- Coordinate schedules with classroom teachers and other specialists' service delivery.
- Select appropriate instructional programs and methodologies, plan, and implement instruction that matches students' IEP goals and objectives.
- Provide appropriate instruction to address IEP goals and objectives, and differentiate instructional accordingly.
- Employ appropriate behavior management techniques during individual or small group instruction.
- Maintain and use adaptive equipment and materials.
- Develop and implement classroom and curricular accommodations and modifications.
- Teach and plan cooperatively with subject area teachers.
