Summary: The Production Assistant will play a key supporting role in the production processes for the company's performance bedding products such as performance sheets, mattress protectors, pillows, mattresses, adjustable bases, Ambient M3 mattress and other bedding accessories etc.
The Production Assistant supports the Production Manager by managing day-to-day tasks in production, assisting with sample checking and vendor coordination, and ensuring that delivery timelines are met. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the efficient flow of production processes, maintaining quality standards, and providing administrative and operational support to the department.

Ability to drive the development and sourcing of high-quality products. This position requires expertise in market research, product development and supplier negotiation to ensure cost-effective procurement and timely delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion in new product research and development, understanding of supply chain processes, and cross-functional collaboration, with excellent follow-up and communication skills to support seamless product development and procurement operations.
Sensory Requirements: Should have working use of hearing and vision with or without the use of corrective lenses/hearing aids to be able to read paperwork, work on a computer screen for an extended period of time, and frequently speak on the phone.
Environmental: N/A - indoor office environment
Language Skills: English proficiency required (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension). Proficiency in Chinese language would be preferred, but not a must.
Mathematical Skills: Basic arithmetic and algebra
Reasoning Ability: Strong analytical skills to evaluate supplier proposals and assess market trends effectively. Capable of making data-driven decisions and identifying cost-saving opportunities while balancing quality and supplier reliability. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential for navigating complex procurement scenarios and optimizing sourcing strategies. Excellent planning and problem-solving skills with limited resources; ability to effectively prioritize and project manage multiple assignments at any given time. Ability to use judgment to make important decisions.

Key Responsibilities (include But Not Limited To)
Production Support
- Daily follow up with vendors on submit dates for all production components and sample approvals and updating these dates in WIP report daily.
- Communicate daily with vendors to ensure timely delivery of production samples.
- Assist in opening, marking samples, measuring, comparing with approved standards, updating BOM/TP and sending comments to vendors.
- Assist in the approval of packaging and labeling of all products to meet production schedules.
- Assist in updating and maintaining label guides for both domestic and international markets, based on production comments.
- Assist in creating and updating tech packs for all products.
- Facilitate product testing with vendors to ensure compliance with internal and external standards
- Update final pricing and product dims (after approved by the Product Manager) to NetSuite
- Work closely with the Product Development Team to ensure all projects are handed over with complete information in a timely manner.
- Act as a liaison between internal teams and vendors, communicating updates and resolving issues as they arise.
- Creating and maintaining libraries for all production fabrics/trims/labels/packaging etc.
- Assist Production Manager in working with Quality team as well as factories to resolve any quality issues.
- Assist Production Manager in collaborating with stakeholders to address and resolve issues with product approvals.
- Coordinate invoices, create PO’s and work with the finance department to ensure factory payments.
- Assist Production Manager is managing smart and technical products from inception to shipping including creating cost comparison charts, analyzing costs and negotiating with vendors.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- HS Diploma or GED
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and have IDs needed to verify.
- English proficient (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension)
- Computer savvy; proficient with Microsoft Office
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited college in textiles, merchandising, fashion, or closely related field preferred, but not required.
- 1 years’ experience in product development, procurement, and sourcing, preferably within the bedding or related industry.
- 1 years’ experience in research or production/manufacturing; consumer durable goods.
- 1 years’ experience of sourcing materials and vendor research (international and domestic) highly preferred
- Excellent follow-up, cross-functional department skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ideal candidate will have a strong aesthetic sense and great eye for design.
