Summary: The Production Supervisor is a key contributor, working closely with management to plan, organize, prioritize, and facilitate the smooth production of all products and orders. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Production Supervisor. The ideal candidate will assist in coordinating production tasks, managing team members, holding daily production meetings, and implementing strategies to enhance overall productivity.

Essential Functions (include but not limited to):

• Supervise and coordinate all aspects of the production line, including training, task assignment, coaching, and counseling of team members.
• Provide daily update and effectively communicate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with the production team.
• Manage day-to-day operations within the production department:
  • Train staff
  • Assigning duties
  • Coaching and counseling of employees
  • Ensuring all processes and procedures are being followed
• Collaborate in the development and execution of production strategies and schedules.
• Assist with creating, revamping, and implementing training materials.
• Balance labor resources with forecasted units, consistently meeting or exceeding daily efficiency goals for each production line.
• Proactively monitor and manage steps to maximize production equipment uptime, emphasizing efficiency and quality procedures.
• Supervise processes to minimize waste and ensure the efficient staging and movement of materials and components within the production process.
• Oversee department quality program to guarantee adherence to BEDGEAR standards in all production outputs.
• Implement planning priorities and adjust schedules and workloads, as necessary.
• Ensure strict adherence to all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) before, during, and after the production process. Perform any additional duties as assigned by management to support overall production goals and objectives.
• Expected to fill-in and complete manufacturing maintenance requests as needed.
• Cross-trained to learn basic preventative maintenance or troubleshooting on frequently used equipment in the manufacturing operation.
• Act as a Bedgear brand and values ambassador to promote a positive culture within the Manufacturing team.
• Promote a positive safety culture by supporting safety initiatives, including ensuring safety compliance within your assigned work area.
• Performs other duties as assigned by manager.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• HS Diploma or GED
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and have IDs needed to verify
• Operation of forklift or pallet jack, must be able to pass written and operational skills test
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Must have strong basic computer skills

Education/Experience/License Requirements:

• At least 1 year of supervisory experience required
• 5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in the textile industry
• Knowledge of raw materials, ratios, weight, and mix required to produce pillows and mattresses

Ability to prioritize effectively and operate efficiently; use sound judgment to make rational decisions; ability to recognize opportunities and evoke change where applicable; must be objective v. subjective; strong follow up skills; intrapersonal skills; excellent communication skills; attention to detail and process orientation; problem solving skills; coaching and mentoring skills; must have thorough understanding of company’s confidentiality agreement.

Sensory Requirements: Should have working use of hearing and vision with or without the use of corrective lenses/hearing aids to be able to read paperwork, work on a computer screen for an extended period of time and speak on the phone and virtually.

Language Skills: English proficiency required (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension). Knowledge of an additional language(s) is a plus!

Mathematical Skills: Basic arithmetic and algebra

Reasoning Ability: Solid understanding of branding and marketing communications strategies and tactics; excellent planning and problem-solving skills with limited resources; ability to effectively prioritize and project manage multiple assignments at any given time. Ability to use judgement to make important decisions.

Work Environment: Factory setting, large open area, exposure to heavy machinery and motorized vehicles, exposed to extreme temperatures, loud and fast paced environment, and occasional stressful situations.
