Job Overview :
The Social Services Director is responsible for leading, managing, and overseeing social service programs and initiatives aimed at supporting individuals and families in need. This includes developing and implementing policies, managing a team of social workers and support staff, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The Social Services Director advocates for the well-being of clients and plays a key role in community outreach, resource allocation, and program development.
Key Responsibilities :
Program Management :
Develop, implement, and evaluate social services programs to meet the needs of individuals, families, and communities.
- Oversee the delivery of services, ensuring they are effective, efficient, and in alignment with the organization’s goals and mission.
- Manage program budgets, ensuring resources are used effectively to achieve desired outcomes.
Client Support and Advocacy :
Ensure that social service programs are accessible and meet the needs of diverse populations, including vulnerable and underserved groups.
Compliance and Reporting :
Ensure all social services programs comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as organizational policies.
Community Engagement and Outreach :
Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, government agencies, and other service providers to enhance the resources available to clients.
Strategic Planning :
Develop long-term goals and strategies for social services programs based on the needs of the community and emerging social trends.
Crisis Intervention :
Oversee crisis intervention services for individuals experiencing emergencies or urgent situations, such as domestic violence, mental health crises, or homelessness.
Quality Improvement :
Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of social service programs and identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications : Education :
Licensure as a social worker (e.g., LCSW, LMSW) required
Experience :
Several years of experience in social services, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
Skills :
Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
Work Environment :
