We are currently seeking an MDS Coordinator with at least one year of current experience in the RAI process and MDS completion to join our team.
Position Highlights:
- On-site work required with no staffing on-call participation for RAI Coordinators.
- Work in collaboration with other full-time RAI/MDS Coordinators already in place at the center.
- Utilize the current RAI Manual as a resource for completing the RAI process and possess a strong understanding of the Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM).
- Schedule Assessment Reference Dates (ARDs) for payment assessments to accurately capture clinical characteristics for payment classification.
- Facilitate the timely completion of MDS sections, Care Area Assessments (CAAs), and assist in developing comprehensive care plans.
- Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM codes and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (IDT) for clarification as needed.
- Encode MDS 3.0 assessments based on medical record documentation.
- Participate in meetings with the IDT and document care plan reviews.
- Communicate with the IDT for coding clarification and report issues regarding timeliness to the Administrator.
- Transmit assessments in accordance with regulations, ensuring timely validation of MDS acceptance into the Internet Quality Improvement and Evaluation System (iQIES).
- Address non-fatal errors and immediately correct fatal errors according to regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate the completion and updating of resident care plans in collaboration with the IDT to reflect current resident needs.
- Identify residents requiring a Significant Change in Status assessment and collaborate with the IDT for timely completion.
- Participate in resource utilization meetings or triple check meetings prior to billing claims associated with payment assessments.
- Attend and participate in continuing education related to the RAI process and related programs and complete all assigned training and competencies.
- Possess a strong working knowledge of Medicare and Managed Medicare reimbursement and assist with duties related to Additional Development Requests (ADRs).
- Perform administrative duties, including QAPI activities and participation in department or committee meetings.
- Registered Nurse (RN) with at least one year of current experience with the RAI process and MDS completion.
- Previous experience with Point Click Care is a plus.
- Strong working knowledge of Medicare and Managed Medicare reimbursement.
- Certification and training related to MDS and RAI processes are preferred.
