Job Overview
The Interior Designer is responsible for designing our retail spaces and showroom vignettes. The Interior Designer will actively participate and contribute to developing design concepts. In this position, you may begin to handle some project management tasks, but will primarily work on technical aspects.
Duties
- Collaborate with the Marketing team, Product managers, and Branch managers to design and build retail spaces and vignettes within the showroom
- Create various room scenes and provide inspiration for our product usage to drive sales
- Responsible for presentation of merchandise in the showroom - style the showroom with cabinets, accessories, fixtures, finishes, and furniture
- Lead design projects from concept to completion
- Produce complete interior design drawings and documentation including plans, interior elevations, details, specifications and component spreadsheets
- Work with suppliers and contractors
- Develop proposals and budgets for vignettes
- Oversee and mentor Jr designer(s) and support staff
- QC of interior design drawings and documentations
Minimum Qualifications
- BA in Interior Design or related field
- 5-7 years of design experience
- New construction and renovation experience is a must
- Expert knowledge of AutoCAD is a must
- Knowledge of Sketchup or other 3D tools
- NCIDQ preferred
- Capability to lead a team leadership experience is critical
- Must be able to space plan all aspects of renovation and new showroom builds
- Ability to make the transition from strategic thinking (conceptual and planning) to execution to achieve the tactical objectives
- Creative problem solving abilities
- Ability to travel to various showrooms in the US
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to organize and effectively communicate in written and verbal format
