Assistant Plant Manager

Job Summary
We are a small 30 person family owned shop that makes specialty medical beds for special needs kids seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Plant Manager to oversee our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining high-quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of operations management and production planning.

Requirements

• Experience in wood working at a commercial facility.
• 5 years of experience in manufacturing leadership role
• Bachelor's Degree or higher is preferred
• Able to read CAD prints
• Knowledge of basic manufacturing and warehousing processes and operations
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Ability to perform basic math skills
• Willingness to perform physical labor

Responsibilities

• In this plant management position, you play an essential role in managing (and when needed assist with) production on the shop floor.
• Based on the daily and weekly schedules, you coordinate production floor goals and establish operational objectives to ensure on-time deliveries of products
• Using your exceptional organizational skills, you keep track of inventory management as well as make sure we have sufficient supplies to successfully complete each day's activities
• You are responsible for ensuring safety protocols are followed in the shop.
• To increase productivity, you encourage continuous improvement among your employees as well as implement and enforce company standards to ensure our products exceed customer expectations
• To keep your team running smoothly, you assist with hiring local personnel
• You work hard to build effective teams, as well as ensure your employees have the proper training they need including cross training.
• You maintain consistent communication with Plant Manager and our main branch and report any issues that arise

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
