We are looking for a Traffic Coordinator to oversee and manage international shipments, ensuring smooth logistics operations from overseas suppliers to U.S. destinations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work directly with the President of Omni Channel, collaborating with global teams, freight forwarders, and 3PL warehouses while handling import documentation, customs compliance, and domestic transportation.
This is a hybrid role which requires working 3 days per week at our New York City office
What You’ll Do:
- Global Coordination: Work closely with overseas teams (China, India, Pakistan, Europe) to arrange purchase order bookings and shipments to U.S. destinations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Shipment Tracking & Logistics: Communicate with freight forwarders and carriers to track, trace, and provide real-time updates on shipments via ocean, rail, truck, and air while resolving any logistics-related issues.
- Import Process Management: Handle the end-to-end administrative process for imports, including receiving, validating, rating, and organizing all shipping/freight documents.
- Customs Compliance: Work closely with customs brokers on 7501, 3461, ISF entries, amendments, and classification audits to ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations.
- Shipment Documentation: Review shipment arrival notices, delivery orders, notifications, and pickup numbers for accuracy and efficiency.
- Transportation Coordination: Manage pre-alerts, dispatch shipments, and arrange inland trucking with drayage/trucking companies from the port to final delivery locations while maintaining cost-effective fee schedules.
- Accounting Support: Assist the Finance team with filing, invoicing, and tracking customer orders and 3rd-party warehouse transactions.
- 3PL Warehouse Management: Ensure accurate inventory receipt, order processing, and compliance with routing guidelines, while overseeing inbound/outbound tracking, minimizing detention and demurrage costs, and maintaining inventory accuracy.
- Reporting: Maintain and share inbound/outbound tracking reports internally to update shipment and order status.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain processes, including U.S. Customs import regulations.
- Experience in third-party warehousing (3PL) and freight coordination.
- Excellent time management, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
- Highly organized with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or transportation management.
- Experience in wholesale, retail, or manufacturing environments is a plus.
