Located in the heart of California’s Central Valley, Bee Sweet Citrus, Inc. is focused on innovation, sustainability, and customer satisfaction. Job OverviewBee Sweet Citrus is seeking an optimistic, committed, and motivated student who is interested in pursuing a career in the farming industry to join our Farm Management department as a Pest Control Advisor intern. This individual will assist with identifying pests, weeds, and other organisms on our fields, as well as implementing IPM practices on a regular basis.  We offer hands-on experience to ensure you receive the maximum of knowledge while shadowing a current full time Pest Control Advisor.  Duties/Responsibilities Assisting PCA’s with field checking, pest and weed identification, writing recommendations and fertilization plansPlacing traps in fields, conducting field evaluations, and pulling soils and leaf samplesLearning and applying IPM practices, calibrations, safety and mixing Required Skills/AbilitiesKnowledge of basic computer skillsUnderstanding of quality standards and health and safety regulationsAbility to work effectively and efficiently independently and in a team settingThe ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understandThe ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrongPhysical RequirementsMust be able to think rationally and apply logic during high-stress situationsMust be able to bend, and stoop, including the need to move and lift heavy objects Must be able to work both inside and outside conditions, frequent exposure to heat, cold, adverse weather, greases, oils, noise, chemicals and work in and around moving vehicles Must be able to climb, reach/stretch arms legs or other parts of the body to grasp objects ExperienceEnrolled in an accredited university or college Plant Science or AG Business majors or related degree  Pay Offered/Benefits$16.50 per hourHealth wellness program that covers regular doctor visits, eye exams, etc. with only a minor copayScholarship Opportunities
