Overview
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) contributes to the nursing process and participates in providing patient care in accordance with facility or department policies, procedures, and/or protocols under the supervision of the nursing leader and in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and the State of Delaware Board of Nursing Rules and Regulations. The LPN assists in maintaining a safe work environment and performs all related job responsibilities in a safe manner. The LPN maintains clinical and professional competency as appropriate to the population of clients served.
Responsibilities
Timely implementation of nursing interventions under the supervision of the RN nurse leader.
Acts as a preceptor and mentor for other licensed and unlicensed clinical team members, excluding RNs. Timely completion of assigned education and annual competencies.
Assists in developing, implementing, and evaluating an identified plan of care. Prioritizes and coordinates care delivery and employs strategies to promote a safe environment.
Administers medications according to policy excluding IV push medications.
Collects, analyzes, and documents the assessment data and participates in determining the actual or potential nursing diagnoses, problems, and identifying expected outcomes.
Recognizes unit needs and works with the RN nurse leader and other leadership to help facilitate solutions.
Communicates and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams and other key stakeholders in the conduct of nursing practice.
Utilizes appropriate resources to plan, provide, and sustain evidence-based nursing services that are safe, effective, and fiscally responsible.
Advocates for clients.
Actively assists others and accepts additional duties or assignments. Works in other BMG office locations and/or other shift times when needed.

Credentials
Essential:

Additional Responsibilities: Clinical skills specific to this specialty include but are not limited to care of the pediatric patient, POC testing, IV insertion, clinical inbox management, and assistance with office-based procedures.
