Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Directs and guides patient teaching and activities of subordinate personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing, always working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate and competent direct patient care under the guidance of experienced nursing staff.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and maintain accurate documentation of patient responses.
- Monitor and assess patients' physical and emotional well-being, promptly reporting any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualized care plans for patients, ensuring their holistic needs are met.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, therapists, and support staff, to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care techniques to promote wellness and prevent complications.
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols, maintaining a clean and safe patient care environment.
- Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address emergent situations and provide timely interventions.
- Participate in ongoing educational opportunities to enhance clinical knowledge and skills, staying current with evidence-based practices and healthcare trends.
- Uphold professional standards, ethical principles, and confidentiality in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.

Credentials
- Valid/Active Registered Nurse license (must be obtained prior to start date)
- Successful completion of an accredited nursing program, resulting in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), or Diploma Nursing Program
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association is required; additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS are beneficial.
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (unit dependent)
Education
- RN Diploma/RN Graduate Program
