Overview
The Dual Certified Vascular Access Tech is responsible for providing general US and vascular diagnostic studies.
Responsibilities
- Performs vascular testing and general US studies and measurements using the computer-assisted analysis package. Recognizes artifacts and technical problems and eliminates probably sources
- Recognizes abnormalities and reports to physicians in a timely manner.
- Repeats various portions of the study at the request of the vascular or radiology physician.
- Increases clinical knowledge through one or more of the following: journal review, textbook and video training aides, membership in a local or national vascular association as well as general US CEU.
- Attends in-services and other meetings as required.
- Assures that patient charges are generated, and documentation is complete and accurate.
- Actively participates in performance improvement process to include evaluating, reporting, and recommendations.
- Maintains equipment and requests necessary supplies.
- Trouble shoots minor equipment problems and helps evaluate new equipment.
- Adheres to established hospital and departmental policies, procedure, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environment, and infection control.
- Participates in the development and provision of patient, family, staff, and community education programs.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years in medical office, preferably in a vascular access or outpatient specialty practice.
- Clear communication skills both written and verbal.
- Able to keep confidential information regarding patients and team members.
- Able to withstand crisis situations.
- Has skills to provide customer service to patients, team members and visitors.
- Knowledge and experience with electronic health records.
Competencies Skills
- Associate degree in related field.
