Pool Director
Beechmont Country Club is seeking a service and hospitality-minded Pool Director. This full-time, seasonal
position oversees all pool and swim activities with a focus on families, exciting programming, and maintaining a
safe and welcoming environment.
Reports to: Assistant General Manager
Supervises: Swimming Instructors, Lifeguards, Coaches
Classification: Full-Time Seasonal, Salary Exempt
Annualized Salary: $42,000 to $50,000 based on qualifications and experience.
Additional Compensation: Lesson and programming commissions, scholarship opportunities, meals, uniforms,
and more.
Education and/or Experience
• Prior experience as an Assistant Pool Manager at a comparable facility
• Competitive swimming experience as either a coach or athlete preferred
• Lifeguard training and experience teaching swim lesson required
• Private club experience preferred

Job Summary (Essential Functions)
Full time, seasonal position that oversees all pool and swim activities. Maintains a safe, clean, and appealing swim
program and facilities for members, children, and guests.
Job Tasks/Duties
• Manages pool area, including changing facilities and guard facilities. Seeks to maintain a resort-like
presentation of the pool and related facilities.
• Safeguards and ensures proper care of all pool equipment and furnishings.
• Plans, promotes, and directs all pool activities including events, swim team, lessons, and open swimming.
• With a service and hospitality focus, hires, supervises, trains, and evaluates lifeguards, assistant coaches,
and other pool personnel.
• Formulates weekly work schedules and rotation schedules for all pool employees.
• Develops and oversees mini camps for juniors.
• Provides swim lessons, group clinics, and other programs for members.
• Develops and implements safety programs.
• Collects charges and fees for all swim-related activities and coordinates processing with the Club’s
Accounting Department.
• Interprets and enforces pool rules and regulations.
• Attends all staff, management, Pool Committee, and other applicable meetings.
• Interacts with Special Events Director and Chef about food and beverage needs for events.
• Partners with the Outside Operations Manager to ensure Snack Bar service and cleanliness standards are
being met.
• Maintains visible presence during peak times of activity.
• Maintains proper water chemistry in coordination with the Club’s Maintenance Department.
• Maintains and keeps all necessary records concerning pool attendance, pool chemistry, accident reports,
lifeguard, and instructor schedules, etc.
• Adheres to all federal, state, and local laws regarding health, safety, and employment.
• Provides pool related information for the Club’s newsletter, website, and other communication platforms.
• Assists in the development of operating and capital budgets. Works to ensure budget goals are met.
• Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Assistant General Manager.
Licenses and Special Requirements
• Must have current Red Cross Lifeguard Certificate.
• Red Cross progressive Swimming Instructor Certificate or comparable certification desired.
• American Red Cross Basic First Aid required, training on AED units and a current Red Cross CPR card.
• Certified Pool/Spa Operator (CPO) offered by the National Swimming Pool Foundation desirable.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
• Working conditions are often, hot, humid, slippery, and wet.
• Able to work in a busy, noisy environment.
• Able to tolerate the smell of chlorine and frequent exposure to cleaning agents.
• Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment, which is
typical of this position.
