As the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), you will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to our residents. Working closely with the Director of Nursing (DON), in overseeing various aspects of nursing operations and providing leadership to the nursing staff.
Responsibilities of Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON):
Clinical Oversight: Monitor and assess the quality of nursing care provided to residents, ensuring adherence to established standards, protocols, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with the nursing team to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual resident needs.
Staff Management: Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and training of nursing personnel. Provide guidance, support, and supervision to nursing staff, fostering a positive work environment conducive to professional growth and development.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, therapists, and social workers, to coordinate resident care plans and ensure holistic care delivery. Communicate effectively with team members to address resident needs and concerns promptly.
Quality Improvement: Participate in quality assurance activities and performance improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the overall quality of care and resident satisfaction. Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to optimize nursing practices and outcomes.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of state and federal regulations governing nursing home operations. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, documentation requirements, and accreditation processes.
Resource Management: Manage nursing resources efficiently, including staffing levels, equipment, and supplies. Optimize resource allocation to meet resident care needs while adhering to budgetary constraints.
Resident Advocacy: Serve as an advocate for residents, promoting their rights, dignity, and well-being. Address resident and family concerns promptly and compassionately, striving to resolve issues and maintain positive relationships.
Direct Care: Assist and/or perform direct resident care as needed or directed. This includes (but is not limited to) passing medications, performing treatments, managing IVs, etc.
Qualifications:
Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
At least two years experience working in a skilled nursing facility or similar role
