What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receptionist position at Beechwood Continuing Care?
Beechwood Homes is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will greet visitors and direct them as necessary, operate the facility switchboard and paging system, and be responsible for providing exceptional customer service.
Hours:
- Full or Part Time
- Weekdays- afternoons and evenings
- Weekends- Day and evening shifts
- Rotating holidays are required
Pay:
- $15.75-$16.50/ hr
Essential Competencies:
- Handles all incoming calls to both facilities, routing to proper destinations in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Greets visitors to the facility and directs them as necessary. Ensures that all visitors sign in/out in the visitation book.
- Ensures that all Residents and their family member(s) (if applicable) sign in/out whenever leaving the facility (either out on pass (OOP) or on to the grounds), and upon returning to the facility.
- Arranges meal reservations for Resident's guest(s) as requested per facility guest meal procedure.
- Distributes funds from Resident accounts following facility procedure.
- Manages the sale of staff meal tickets per facility procedure.
- Announces the arrival of all Resident admissions via the facility messaging system: "Admit New" paging group.
- Makes announcement and follows facility procedures for Fire Alarms (Code Red), Disaster (Code Blue), etc. Completes Fire Alarm Notification Sheet.
- Delivers, receives, sorts, and distributes mail. Receives small package shipments (i.e.: UPS, Amazon, Fed Ex, etc.) and initiates distribution.
- Counts cash drawer at beginning of shift, balances with outgoing receptionist. Closes out guest meal reservation recap sheet to the Business Office.
- Distributes pay checks to staff members.
- Responsible for closing and locking Reception area at end of shift.
- Performs other clerical duties as required.
Working Conditions:
Works in a well-lighted, comfortable area. Is subject to interruptions. May be required to redirect Residents at times.
Personal Qualifications:
Must be courteous and have clear communication and telephone skills. Must be able to follow directions. Must have patience, tact, professionalism, enthusiasm, and a cheerful disposition when dealing with Residents, staff, visitors, and the general public. Must understand and maintain confidentiality regarding information about Residents and staff.
