Responsibilities
- A Horizontal/Directional Drill Locator/ Operator is specially trained and has expertise in locating utilities for horizontal/directional drill rigs and product support equipment
- This individual will be primarily responsible for setup and completion of drilling variable-sized underground bore holes and pulling back required conduit/pipe.
- As a Directional Driller/Equipment Operator, you are responsible for running a variety of directional drilling equipment; Directional Drill, (Vermeer and/or Ditch Witch) Vac
- Truck, Mud Truck, Excavator, Forklift, Dump truck, Locator, along with others not listed
- Locate utilities for Horizontal Directional Drill for installation of underground conduit and fiber optic cable
- Operate Horizontal Directional Drill
- Assist in potholing and remediation
- Assist with setting hand holes and completing tie-ins
- Set equipment up including the drill, water tanks and the grounding for the drill
- Ability to properly formulate and mix drilling mud for the site conditions
- Ability to perform proper reaming and pull back methods for existing conditions
- Follows specifications for the job and company policies
- Oversee laborers and/or crew members work and monitor time usage
- Ability to properly clean and maintain the equipment, check fluid levels, and conduct a visual inspection of vehicle/equipment to assure your vehicle/equipment is performing at optimum safety, perform the required pre-trip, post trip inspections and the required reports, perform needed maintenance including winterizing equipment
- Communicates with Supervisor daily to turn in required reports (i.e
- Bore log, vehicle maintenance reports, material entries etc.)
- Complies with safety procedures on and off the project site
- Strive for optimal production while working safely and performing quality work
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.36 - $35.00 per hour
