Role Overview
Beehive Industries is looking for you to join our Product Engineering team as a Principle Engineer – Loads and Rotor Module Leader. This position will report to the Director of Systems Integration and is a full-time, onsite position. In this role, you will lead various loads and rotor design and analysis efforts supporting gas turbine engine architectures. You will perform trade studies and oversee key engineering efforts to determine the best design solutions when it comes to engine dynamics and stability in the rotating turbomachinery. You will be expected to assist with the development of new technologies and support design requirements while balancing cost, weight, and other key criteria outlined by various engine programs.
Key Responsibilities
In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position is $160,000-$190,000 base salary. Role Overview

You will be expected to assist with the development of new technologies and support design requirements while balancing cost, weight, and other key criteria outlined by various engine programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the design and analysis of bearings, seals, and driveshafts in a gas turbine engine, including the structural stress analysis and thermal analysis.
- Expertise in modeling bearings, seals, and driveshafts designs in industry leading analytical tools. Support finite element analysis and apply knowledge using ANSYS Workbench and associated tools. Includes performing static, dynamic vibration, shock, plasticity, interference, thermal, contact, and fatigue analysis.
- Execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of turbomachinery components and assemblies using sound engineering principles while meeting industry standards and program requirements. This includes evaluation of the effects of the overall system (manuevers, dynamic modes, limit load cases, etc) on components and assemblies.
- Lead engine system or component test programs from a hardware design and overall system perspective. Conduct operational testing and develop test plans including instrumentation, data acquisition, signal processing. Provide presentations and recommendations based on test results.
- Serve as the mechanical system design subject matter expert as part of a diverse system design team. Ensure products and sub-systems meet overall requirements from a design perspective.
- Lead design reviews and coordinate with other disciplines in design, performance and secondary systems, stress and life, additive manufacturing, materials and system analysis
- Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.
- Participate in the research and development of technologies and methodologies associated with additive design. Advise on ways to improve product design through the exploitation of additive manufacturing.
- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated consistent with engineering best practices.
- Use engineering judgment to balance complex and conflicting program requirements and propose solutions to optimize overall product performance.
- Work with suppliers to procure hardware and resolve producibility and quality issues.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
- At least 15 years of experience, including gas turbine component design
- Strong understanding of design software tools (CAD, ANSYS, etc)
- Experience working with additive manufacturing technologies and familiarity with design for additive manufacturing principles
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
- Passion for additive technology and willingness to challenge current design limitations to further exploit the benefits of additive capability
- Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Demonstrated problem solving ability and strong program leadership and execution skills
- Proven self-starter and quick learner who can work in fast-paced cross-functional teams
