Guard
Duties :
Patrols buildings, parking lots, and other adjoining areas to ensure security of employees,
visitors, and property;
Checks all windows, doors, and entrances to buildings to make certain they are closed; Prevents admittance to the premises of unauthorized persons; Conducts ID badge verification and inspections, including credential verification, fingerprinting,
security-based training and badge creation/issuance; Maintains order in crowds and controls traffic and parking; Investigates unusual conditions or disturbances, responds, and clears alarms; Monitors cameras and control system to ensure safety of employees, passengers, tenants, and
visitors; Contacts police when necessary to remove disorderly persons from the premises; May be required to assist with minor emergency buildings and grounds maintenance and repair
and/or call the proper authority to deal with such situations; Assist with maintaining accountability of security equipment, including airport badges, keys,
access cards, etc. Prevents damage to property; Checks conditions of fire hazards; Makes periodic reports and maintains records of activities; Answers questions for and directs the public; Other duties as assigned.
Requirements :
A background in criminal justice and police work. A first aid and CPR certificate. A NYS OTI background check. A patient attitude and even temper. The ability to effectively counsel and interact with children and teenagers.
