Job Description
We are growing…Beelman Truck Co. is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk for our headquarters located on Highway 15 between Belleville and East St. Louis, Illinois. We are a large, dry bulk transportation company looking for the right person to add to our busy, high-volume, fast paced accounting team.
Job Responsibilities
· Using a purchase order system, verify inventory parts are received into our inventory system correctly.
· Verify PO’s are created correctly, assist shops in correcting PO’s, if necessary.
· Verify parts/supplies are charged correctly on vendor invoices.
· Obtain approvals for all invoices.
· Review and close open PO’s once all items are received.
· Research and resolve invoice discrepancies.
· Ensures credits are received for items returned or defective.
· Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
· Update management on the status of vendor accounts and other concerning issues.
· Provide supporting documentation for internal or external audits.
· Provide support to the accounts payable team members.
· Perform all other tasks and/or responsibilities as assigned or requested.
· Complete special projects as needed
Job Requirements
- COMPETITIVE PAY BASED ON EXPERIENCE
· 2-5 years of experience in inventory, preferably in a transportation environment
· Ability to work under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods with frequent interruptions and adaptable to changes in priorities
· Ability to carry out ongoing dialogues in a way that creates trust and confidence within all levels of the company
· Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail and work product accuracy
· Ability to work with speed and accuracy
· Intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Excel
· Excellent customer service skills
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percentages, and/or ratios
· Strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills
· Ability to speak, read, and communicate using the English language
· Ability to work independently, as a member of a team, and a self-starter
· Must have a great, positive, can-do attitude that can hit the ground running!
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
