Job description
Beelman Truck Co. is seeking an experienced Billing Clerk for our headquarters located on Highway 15 between Belleville and East St. Louis, Illinois. We are a large, dry bulk transportation company looking for the right person to join our busy, high-volume accounting team.
Job Responsibilities
* Utilizes computer programs to process data regarding loads and delivery from drivers, dispatchers, and other sources
* Checks data for accuracy and consistency
* Inputs data into billing system to assist in process of generating invoices
* Provides support/back-up to the Accounting Staff and Executives
* Perform other tasks and/or responsibilities as assigned or requested.
Job Requirements
* Ability to work the hours of Monday-Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
* 2-5 years of experience in a billing department, preferably in a transportation environment
* Associate’s Degree in accounting, business, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent customer service skills
* Strong organizational and time management skills
* Ability to work with speed and accuracy
* Ability to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percentages, and/or ratios
* Intermediate to advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Excel
* Ability to speak, read, and communicate using the English language
* Ability to work under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods with frequent interruptions and adaptable to changes in priorities
* Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
