The Mount Abraham Unified School District (MAUSD) seeks an energetic and enthusiastic individual to serve as our K-6 Beeman Elementary School administrative assistant. This position is often the first contact for the public; thus, we seek an individual with a positive demeanor who is knowledgeable, flexible, friendly, and efficient. In addition, our ideal candidate will assist with attendance, registration, coding and distribution of invoices, inventory, ordering, and assignment of substitutes. As such, our ideal candidate will excel in time management, compliance with state and local regulations, efficiency, and attention to detail. The Beeman Elementary School is a welcoming community of diverse learners. Our administrative assistant will contribute to a healthy school climate that welcomes students, parents, staff, and the public from diverse backgrounds, beliefs, and experiences. This is an extended school year position, the hours are 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
• Administrative support to the principal and school
• Answer incoming calls, greet visitors, provide basis information when needed
• Maintain school events calendar
• Maintain student information systems
•Collaborate with principal regarding safety procedures and planning
• Manage student transportation
• Administer volunteer process
• Maintain filing system for records, forms and reports
• Process all student records for new and transferred students
• Provide clerical assistance to school nurse
• Prepare budget data as requested
• Coordinate and verify bi-weekly timesheets for payroll submission
• Generate purchase orders, verify and code invoices for submission
• Track expenses by teacher and/or department
• Receive, sort, distribute all incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries
• Coordinate and track all substitutes for staff absences
• Call substitutes as needed outside of school hours
• Coordinate all student activity funds
• Travel as required (post office, central office)
• Perform other school related and/or administrative tasks as assigned by the principal
Education, Training and Experience Requirements
A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent with two years of relevant experience
Bookkeeping and account management skills
A high level of organization and attention to detail
Strong verbal and written and communication skills
Strong collaborative skills
Strong work ethic, integrity, and ability to maintain confidentiality
Excellent computer technology skills and experience, including word processing, spreadsheets and databases. Experience in Microsoft Office, Google Applications, PowerSchool & school finance software.
Valid driver's license
Pay Range:
$22.86 - $27.43 per hour
