JOB DESCRIPTION: COMMUNITY PROGRAMMING
Hours: Tuesday – Friday 9:00 AM –5:00 PM, Saturdays 10:00 AM – 2:30 PM
other days/times as needed
Reports to: Sr. Education Manager
Supervisor: Assistant Director
Security and Cleanliness of the Beeville Art Museum, artwork, and grounds
Greet Patrons and Provide Tours
Enforce Museum policies
Attend special events hosted by the Museum
Answer phones and deliver messages
Coordinate photography of Community Programming events and operations
Assist with Exhibition Preparation and Installation/De-Installation
Maintain current BSA YPT training and BSA Adult Leader Registration
Other requests as needed
GENERAL
· Backup and assist the Sr. Education Manager
· Art Research
· Photo Documentation of all classes/workshops/activities and works produced in the class/workshop/activity
· Work with Sr. Education Manager on developing and maintaining the Community Programming Budget.
· Purchase supplies, document inventory as used for each art class/activity and in general maintain inventory needed for art classes/workshops/activities
· Complete reporting following all classes, workshops, activities, events, and travel/conferences.
· Teen Volunteers - Oversee programs to include recruiting, training, scheduling and coordinate documentation of hours with Gallery Attendant.
CLASSES – WORKSHOPS - ACTIVITES
· Co-Development of curriculum for art classes/workshops/activities with Director and/or Sr. Manager Education
o Upon approval, teach classes/workshops/activities – to include classroom preparation (includes contracting/assisting outside artists)
o Provide tours for the current exhibition prior to each the class/workshop/activity
o BAM Kids Art Space and Art to Go kits
o Summer Art Camps, One Day Workshops, Teen Workshops, and Holiday Happenings
o Family Studio Saturdays and Screening Under the Stars
o Toddler Time
o Adult Classes/Workshops
· Point of contact for classes/workshops/activity registration/and contracted artists.
· Design/Oversee mailing of Children Artists of Beeville Invite
· Installation of Gallery N Children's Work June - Aug to include labeling and guest inventory.
o This will include Children Artists of Beeville and may include Boy Scout courses.
OUTSIDE ORGANIZATIONS
· Resident Outreach – schedule monthly visit to each of the three identified organizations, this includes taking a second staff member.
· Scouts – Primary contact for scouting organizations. Responsible for scheduling courses throughout the year particularly merit badge offerings during spring break and summer for Scouts BSA and Art Explosion for Webelos. Cub Scout requirements should be added.
OUTSIDE ORGANIZATIONS – CONTD.
· Beeville Boys and Girls Club – Schedule and develop two summer activities. One at BAM and one onsite. Expansion to include activities throughout the year is encouraged.
· Toys For Tots – Coordinate the box drop-off/pick-up for their annual toy drive.
HOLIDAYS EVENTS
· Develop and propose a theme for the annual BAM Xmas Tree. At least 75% of the ornaments/decoration are to be handmade by BAM staff and volunteers.
· Work with the Assistant Director on scheduling the Ornament Workshop.
· Coordinate the installation/de-installation of the BAM Christmas tree (from the previous year) at the McClanahan House.
· Develop and propose treats to be distributed and decoration of BAM for Halloween.
· Develop and propose a theme for the annual Dia de los Muertos Offrenda. Oversee the building of the Offrenda.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
· Attend Rockport Educator Days – annual workshop.
