Primary Purpose :
Promote positive public relations between Beeville ISD, the community, and all stakeholders. Prepare and provide information to the public about the activities, goals, and policies of the school district. Serve as point of contact and district coordinator for all foundation programs.
Qualifications : Education / Certification :
Bachelor's Degree in English, journalism, communications, or related field, preferred
Special Knowledge / Skills : Demonstrate skills in writing, proofreading, editing, and desktop publishingDevelop a cohesive communication strategyExcellent public relations, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to speak effectively before groups of employees, parents, or the publicAbility to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the districtAbility to perform a variety of tasks often changing assignments on short notice with little or no directionAbility to use software to develop spreadsheets, perform data analysis, and do word processingAbility to maintain accurate and auditable recordsAbility to meet established deadlinesExcellent writing and editing skillsKnowledge of communication principles, media and public relations techniquesThorough knowledge of media relations and public relations functions
Experience : 5 years of journalism and / or communications experience, preferred
