What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Service Technician position at Befesa Zinc US Inc?
As a Maintenance Service Tech, you will work in all areas of the facility where you will assist and lead in various preventive maintenance, repair, troubleshooting tasks related to keeping the facility operations running in a safe, efficient manner and in optimal condition. Experience in the maintenance and mechanical repair of conveyor systems, bag houses, pneumatic transfer systems, vacuum systems, welding, pumps, and compressed air systems. The preferred candidate will also have experience in basic electrical troubleshooting servicing and PLC. Experience with fabrication/welding, railcar welding and repairs is also a plus.
All PPE, tools, welders, torches, etc. will be provided by Befesa.
The shift schedule for this position will be 7am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday with rotating on call weekends. The company is open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Job Duties:
· Perform tasks associated with the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul of all plant processing equipment.
· Perform and complete required documentation related to the Preventive Maintenance of all plant equipment and facilities.
· Perform welding and mechanical repairs of railcars used to transfer materials to and from the facility.
· Participate in Preventive and Predictive Maintenance
· Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Job Requirements:
· Must be able to work outdoors, in extreme weather conditions including extreme heat/cold, inclement weather.
· Must wear personal protective equipment on a regular basis, including a hard hat, respirator, hearing protection, safety shoes, coveralls, safety glasses, etc.
· Must be able to routinely work from heights greater than 50 feet, climbing stairs/ladders, in confined spaces, and/or while wearing safety harness or other fall protection systems.
· Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently move up to 50 pounds.
· High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
· Previous Experience in Industrial Maintenance roles preferred.
· Competent with the safe operation of hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
· Excellent time management, attention to detail, communication skills (verbal and written) and self-motivated.
· Must be willing to accept accountability and work well within a team.
· Must be able to work effectively under pressure and perform duties under stressful situations.
· Ability to understand and convey verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English.
· Experience with DOT, OSHA, and all related safety regulations preferred.
· Must maintain a clean and safe work area.
