Rail Car Repair Technician:
Responsible for working in a safe manner and reports to the Logistics Manager. Mechanical and Welding competencies will be required and tested in order to ensure Rail Car Repair Technician Person can make necessary repairs to railcars so that the plant can operate continuously and within compliance. The main job is welding repairs of rail cars. The day to day activities will include evaluation, troubleshooting diagnostics, removing/replacing, disassembling, and/or cleaning of accessories and parts, replacing seals/gaskets, They shall also have knowledge and experience in Plant Operator Roles such that they can be utilized to cover any potential gaps that occur through call-in and/or Vacation situations. Priorities and assignments will be given from the Shift Supervisor to the Rail Car Repair Technician.
The shift schedule for this position consists of a 8 hour day shift
Job Duties:
· Rail Car Repair Technician is responsible for Troubleshooting, identifying, and correcting
· Additionally, the Rail Car Repair Technician Person will be responsible for making repairs to rail cars and piping as needed.
· Responsible for responding to upset conditions impacting compliance and/or production activities. Including, but not limited to, Baghouse Troubleshooting, Belt Tracking and corrective actions affecting tracking, Vibrator rebuilds, Speed encoder replacement/troubleshooting, Bucket Elevator Cleanouts when stalled, Correcting Flow restrictions of Water and/or material (i.e. plugged chutes or piping compromises), etc.
· Responsible for inputting and properly documenting repairs into Infor in a timely manner.
· The Rail Car Repair Technician Person will also be delegated to assist with additional tasks as needed, which includes, but is not limited to: Cutting up and properly disposing product hoses, refilling vibrator oilers, changing latches, etc.
· Accountable for maintaining their work area as well as recognizing and responding to various process failures when they occur.
Job Requirements:
· High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
· Previous Experience in industrial environments is preferred.
· Ability to climb ladders and stairs multiple times per shift.
· Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently move up to 50 pounds.
· Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, including hard hats, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, respirators, protective clothing, gloves, and Safety Harness.
· Competent with the safe operation of hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
· Excellent time management, attention to detail, and communication skills (verbal and written).
· Must be willing to accept accountability and work well within a team.
· Must be able to work effectively under pressure and perform duties under stressful situations.
· Ability to understand and convey verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English.
· Basic math and mechanical skills.
· Experience with DOT, OSHA, and all related safety regulations preferred.
· Must maintain a clean and safe work area.
MUST be able to work outdoors in ALL types of weather and support our continuous operation on a 8 hour shift

Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
