Child Care Program Administrator
Position Title: Child Care Program Administrator
Work Year: 12 months
Reports To: Director of Child Care Services - Before and After School Program
SUMMARY:
The Program Administrator will work with the Director of Child Care services to coordinate, implement, supervise and participate in the administration of the childcare programs offered by the Burlington Public Schools.
SUPERVISISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Program Administrator will supervise the Site Coordinators, Nurse, Teachers, Aides, Assistants, and Volunteer.
ABILITIES:
- Work with the Director to develop, coordinate, implement, supervise, and manage the Before and After School programs, as well as the Summer Central Program.
- Assist in the procurement of supplies for each program including but not limited to equipment, snacks, craft supplies, toys and games.
- Work with staff to serve a diverse population of children ensuring their individual needs are met.
- Work with staff to recruit, screen and recommend applicants for site coordinator, teacher, assistant and volunteer positions.
- Implement appropriate staff work assignment schedules.
- Work with the Department of Early Education and Care on licensing for our programs.
- Ensure all staff are trained in all of the policies and procedures not limited to allergy management, child development, behavior management, attendance procedures and EEC guidelines.
- Evaluate the staff in the program annually.
- Assist in coordinating and implementing the annual registration process for the program and its participants.
- Perform monthly billing tasks for enrolled students including EEC Voucher Billing.
- Ensure Voucher billing, forms and reimbursement contracts are kept current.
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions; complete all necessary forms for expenditures and deposit of funds.
- Ensure student and staff attendance records are collected and maintained in accordance with retention requirements.
- Perform any other duties as required for the position.
- Ability to satisfy attendance requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Must meet the EEC qualifications and have experience as a Program Administrator.
- Experience with childcare billing
- Minimum five years’ experience supervising staff, preferably in multiple sites.
- Experience with and knowledge of Massachusetts EEC licensing guidelines and professional development expectations.
- Experience in faculty recruitment, screening and evaluation.

- Ability to lead and manage staff.
- Ability to effectively present information in a variety of manners to audiences, and respond appropriately to questions.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective and trusting working relationships with students, staff, and the community.
- Supervision and evaluation skills.
- Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and School Committee policies.
SALARY
$75,000.00
