Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and skilled Behavior Therapist to join our team and work directly with individuals, typically children, diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other behavioral challenges. The Behavior Therapist will implement individualized behavior intervention plans, collect data, and provide support to clients and their families to enhance the individual’s quality of life and promote positive behavioral change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement Behavior Plans: Provide one-on-one therapy sessions by executing personalized behavior intervention plans under the guidance of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Clinical Supervisor.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Accurately track client progress by collecting and recording data on targeted behaviors, ensuring consistent documentation for analysis.
- Behavioral Interventions: Use evidence-based techniques, such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), to reinforce positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors in various settings (home, school, community).
- Client Support: Work closely with clients to teach new skills, improve social interactions, communication, daily living, and adaptive functioning.
- Family and Caregiver Support: Train and support families and caregivers in implementing strategies and techniques to promote behavioral change and reinforce therapy progress in the home and other environments.
- Collaborate with Team: Collaborate with families and other professionals to promote effective treatment strategies.
- Maintain Client Records: Ensure confidentiality and maintain thorough, accurate records of client interactions, assessments, and therapy progress in compliance with HIPAA and organizational guidelines.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Registered Behavior Technician is preferred
Experience:
- Prior experience in behavioral therapy, working with children or adults with autism or developmental disabilities is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of ABA principles and strategies is a plus
Certification (preferred but not required):
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or willingness to obtain certification.

- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.

Work Environment:
- Work may be conducted in a variety of settings, including home environments, schools, clinics, or community settings.
- Some flexibility in scheduling is required to accommodate client needs.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, or support clients as necessary.
- Must be able to engage in physical activity, including sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
