What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fort Belvoir (On-Site)-Relocation Counselor position at Behavioral & Educational Solutions PC?
This is an On-Site opportunity at Ft. Belvoir military base.
The Relocation Counselor provides information, resources and counseling designed to help Military Members, eligible Department of Defense (DoD) Civilians and eligible Family Members navigate the transiting process. This position will provide needs assessments, orientations and planning tailored to personal circumstance and requirements, extensive information on Military installations worldwide, and re-entry services.
Job Responsibilities:
The Relocation Counselor shall provide the following services:
- develop lesson plans and present overseas orientations monthly. Overseas orientations are tailored to specific assignment areas of Germany, Korea, and Hawaii.
- Assist in contacting spouses who are separated from the military sponsor due to mission
requirements and provide support services as determined through needs assessment target group.
- Assist with coordinating and presenting the Fort Belvoir Newcomers' Orientation and the Fort Belvoir Spouses' Welcome Orientation
- Assist in replying to relocation requests made for information from telephonic, regular mail, voice mail and electronic mail.
- Maintain the ACS Lending Closet in accordance with AR 608-1 and ACS Relocation Assistance Program (RAP) Standing Operating Procedures (SOP), to include providing services to families requesting household items, issuing the items on the Lending Closet form to include descriptions of the condition of items, maintaining suspense files on items loaned, calling on overdue items, and receiving and accounting for items when they are returned to include the condition of these items.
- Prepare and issue Fort Belvoir Welcome Packets and maintain an inventory of at least 100 packet bags at all times.
- Entering and maintaining client data in an integrated, centralized intake database (CTS).
- Collect and input the following statistics into the CTS program: phone calls, in-person contacts, single/multiple contacts, official or business-related contacts, attendees from all briefings and classes, and any other contacts that relate to Relocation Readiness program.
Location: Ft. Belvoir, VA
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm with a 30-minute break
Education and Experience Requirements
- At a minimum, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Must be willing to complete the following security requirements:
- AT level I Training
- iWatch Training
- OPSEC Training
- Cyber Awareness Training
- Combating Trafficking in Persons Training (CTIP)
- Shall possess strong ability to present information orally and in written format (i.e., marketing) in English.
Preferred Experiences
- Effective and professional communication skills;
- Spanish language skills are a plus.
Salary : $55,000 - $55,924
