What are the responsibilities and job description for the Executive Director – Behavioral Health Agency (Startup Opportunity) position at Behavioral Health Agency?
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Executive Director to lead our startup behavioral health agency. This is a unique opportunity to join as a founding member of a new organization dedicated to providing high-quality supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD).
As a startup, we’re offering a profit-sharing model instead of a traditional salary at this stage. You will receive 10% of profits, which will remain fixed as the company scales. Once the agency becomes financially stable, you will receive a competitive salary in addition to your profit share.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the agency’s operations, ensuring compliance with Connecticut DDS requirements and licensing regulations.
- Supervise and support staff to deliver high-quality services, including residential, day programs, and individualized supports.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to expand the agency’s programs and reach across Connecticut and beyond.
- Handle budgeting, financial planning, and profit-sharing distribution.
- Collaborate with families, clients, and staff to ensure services are person-centered and align with clients’ needs.
- Build relationships with stakeholders, including local organizations and government agencies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising staff who provide services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or mental health needs.
- Strong knowledge of Connecticut DDS regulations and service delivery models.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
What We Offer:
- Profit-Sharing Model: 10% of profits as the agency grows and scales.
- Long-term earning potential with a pathway to a competitive salary as the business stabilizes.
- A chance to be part of a mission-driven startup with ambitious plans for regional and national growth.
- Flexibility and autonomy to shape the agency’s vision and operations.
