In collaboration with the mental health staff, provide assessment, evaluation, consultation, examination, differential diagnosis and treatment planning for the following disorders defined by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for Mental Disorder
Must be able to be in the office one day per week to see clients to meet State of California requirements for patient care. Most services will be done via Telehealth.
Prescribe and dispense medications as delineated by the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee
Promote preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and counseling
Qualifications
Minimum one year of full-time experience within the last two as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner that includes prescribing psychiatric medications. Master's degree (or higher) in nursing
Possess and maintain current certification as an Adult or Psychiatric-Mental Health Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
Graduate from an academic program, within the nursing specialty field of study that is accredited by a regional or national nursing accrediting agency recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse
Have successfully completed 30 hours of education in pharmacology for advance nursing practice
Possess current DEA registration number
Most services can be provided through Telehealth.
Compensation depends on billed services.
Population is for MediCal clients living along the Central Coast.
All billing and client appointments managed through office staff.
