We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance abuse issues. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and facilitating individual and group counseling sessions. The Substance Abuse Counselor will work collaboratively with clients to promote recovery and improve overall well-being.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to determine the extent of substance use and related issues.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on client needs, incorporating evidence-based practices.
- Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions using techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and behavioral therapy.
- Provide education on substance abuse, coping strategies, and relapse prevention techniques.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with ICD-10 standards.
- Collect data on client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals in a hospital setting to ensure holistic care for clients.
- Offer support for co-occurring disorders, including PTSD care when applicable.
- Implement behavior management strategies to assist clients in achieving their recovery goals.
