Duties And Responsibilities
- Serve as the designated Accreditation Point of Contact for assigned treatment centers.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of the Joint Commission Preparedness Program to ensure real-time resource availability.
- Provide training and support on accreditation-related documents, including:
- Behavioral Health Care (BHC) Requirements for Improvement
- BHC Standards Chapters and Onsite Survey Guide
- National Patient Safety Goals
- Accreditation Program Document List
- Identified Risk Areas
- Assist in survey readiness efforts by conducting mock surveys, intra-cycle monitoring, and compliance audits.
- Monitor licensure and certification requirements in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Serve as a consultant for Quality Improvement and treatment team meetings.
- Coordinate Joint Commission applications, updates, and intracycle monitoring activities.
- Ensure the timely submission of Evidence of Standards Compliance to maintain accreditation.
- Provide concise reporting on accreditation activity to leadership and regulatory agencies.
- Develop and implement training programs for key leaders, including Program Directors, Counselor Supervisors, Nurse Supervisors, and Medical Directors.
- Foster relationships with Joint Commission surveyors, Account Executives, and Business Developers.
- Support ongoing compliance efforts by reviewing internal audits, third-party assessments, and regulatory changes.
- Stay updated on state-specific regulatory requirements affecting treatment centers.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Opioid Treatment Programs and Code of Federal Regulations
- Proven experience in accreditation, regulatory compliance, or healthcare administration.
- Experience and strong working knowledge of Joint Commission accreditation standards and behavioral health regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to analyze outcomes and recommend improvements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
- High integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to lead compliance initiatives.
- Ability to train and mentor staff on accreditation requirements.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and via written correspondence.
- Vision and manual dexterity adequate for reading and using office equipment.
- Willingness to travel by car and airplane to treatment centers and meetings.
- Ability to sit for extended periods, with occasional bending, stooping, and stretching.
- Potential interaction with patients who may have infectious diseases, mental health diagnoses, or criminal justice involvement.
