Brief Description
Are you a payroll professional with a desire for professional growth and development? Then come join our Payroll team as a Payroll Specialist at BHN! This role is hybrid, primarily remote with in-office attendance needed approximately 1 day every 2 weeks at our Springfield, MA location (free parking). Occasional in-office attendance for additional trainings or meetings as needed.
BHN’s Payroll Specialist is primarily responsible for processing information for new hires, terminations, status changes, tax changes, deductions, direct deposits, time sheets, rate changes, and retroactive adjustments. Additionally, Payroll Specialists create required reports and follow up with supervisors regarding employee timesheets. Payroll Specialists will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of payroll journal entries, quarterly and annual filings (941s and W2s), and in the set-up and maintenance of earnings, deductions, and tax codes.

Requirements
Payroll Specialist Requirements:
- 2-5 years of payroll experience
- UKG/Kronos software experience a nice to have
- Advanced Excel (Vlookup, Pivot tables) required
- Microsoft Office (Outlook and Word) experience
- Knowledge of basic accounting concepts.
- Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) a plus.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
