Join our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a Housing Specialist in the PACT program at Behavioral Health Network!
This position is based in Springfield, MA.
Your experience, knowledge and great skills will support the PACT program with the following:
- Arranges, in consultation with DMH, the annual inspection of all DMHHRA licensed properties including residences and DMHRA subsidized apartments.
- Schedules and verifies the completion of all repairs and construction generated from the DMH annual inspections.
- Consults with PACT staff to provide housing information and assist in the process of locating stable housing for PACT individuals.
- Complies with all requirements for housing documentation.
- Reviews and becomes familiar with PACT orientation manual and Policy & Procedure manual.
- Attains competence in motivational interviewing and utilizes this approach when working with ambivalence.
- Develop and maintain a list of housing resources for individuals.
- Be familiar with local housing resources including but not limited to Section 8, HUD, special programs and local housing authorities.
- Provide advocacy for individuals regarding housing issues that may arise.
- Ensure individuals have the proper supplies, furnishings, and decorations.
- Supports PACT individuals in maintaining tenancy.

What are we looking for in a Housing Specialist?
Bachelors degree preferred/ High school diploma required.
Experience related to managing affordable housing and /or housing supports.
Prior experience working directly with individual with mental health needs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and a reliable car available for working hours (required).
