The Street Outreach Worker engages high-risk individuals in the community to mediate conflicts, prevent retaliatory violence, and connect individuals with vital services and support. Using lived experience and community credibility, this role helps to build safer, more stable neighborhoods.

The Street Outreach Worker engages high-risk individuals in the community to mediate conflicts, prevent retaliatory violence, and connect individuals with vital services and support. Using lived experience and community credibility, this role helps to build safer, more stable neighborhoods.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct outreach in high-risk areas (parks, neighborhoods, schools, hospitals).
- Mediate and resolve conflicts between individuals or groups.
- Respond to critical incidents 24/7, including shootings or threats of violence.
- Maintain a caseload of up to 15 participants and provide ongoing engagement.
- Connect individuals to case management, housing, employment, and health services.
- Maintain detailed activity logs and engagement tracking.
- Participate in community events and restorative practices like peace circles.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required; relevant life experience is strongly considered.
Experience: Credible connection to the community and experience navigating systems of violence.
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and conflict mediation skills.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays on a rotating schedule.
- Trauma-informed and culturally competent approach.
Location:
In-person/On-site; both in IL and MO
