Business Title:
- Housing Navigator
Job Purpose:
- To assist individuals and families experiencing homelessness or housing instability in securing and maintaining stable housing. This role involves providing comprehensive support, including assessment, advocacy, resource connection, and case management services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' housing needs, including income, family size, and any barriers to housing stability.
- Develop individualized housing plans based on client needs and available resources.
- Assist clients in searching for and obtaining appropriate housing, including completing applications, negotiating leases, and securing move-in assistance.
- Provide advocacy and support to clients in navigating the housing system, including interacting with landlords, utility companies, and social service agencies.
- Connect clients with essential resources, such as financial assistance, employment services, healthcare, and childcare.
- Provide ongoing case management services to clients, including monitoring housing stability, addressing any emerging needs, and promoting self-sufficiency.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation.
- Collaborate with other service providers and community partners to ensure coordinated care and maximize client outcomes.
- Participate in regular team meetings and professional development activities.
- Stay informed about current housing policies, programs, and resources.
- Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Required Experience:
- Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
- Experience in case management or social services.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of community resources and housing programs.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain client confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
