What are the responsibilities and job description for the Therapist (SAMHSA) - LifeMarks Counseling position at Behavioral Health Services?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS STATEMENT(S)
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Client Services
- Assess clinically sound diagnoses and develop culturally appropriate, evidence-based treatment plans.
- Participate in staffing with consultation with psychiatrist(s) / psychologist(s).
- Provide follow-up services / referral to clients following termination of services when needed.
- Provide advocacy services for clients when necessary.
- Provide onsite support and crisis intervention services as needed.
- Program Development
- Opportunity to assist with development of new programming to meet needs of the clients or community. Such as therapeutic groups or trainings.
- Program Management
- Complete thorough and timely documentation of client services and activities for each client including progress notes, intakes, treatment plans, discharges, reports related to services.
- Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings and staff trainings.

- Ability to Stand, Walk, sit, manually manipulate, reach outward and above shoulders, speak, climb, crawl, squat, kneel, and bend on a daily basis
Provide individual therapy services primarily to youth and adolescents who have experienced trauma, in an outpatient clinic setting. While the primary focus will be on children and adolescents, therapeutic support may also extend to adults and families, ensuring a comprehensive approach to healing.
Develop and maintain working relationships with referral sources in the community.
Ensure consistent and ongoing communication with immediate supervisor for program monitoring purposes.
Carry out other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS & ABILITIES
Skills and knowledge required : Expertise in case management, counseling, and effective therapeutic techniques required; excellent communication skills; Experience working with children, adolescents and families who have experienced trauma; familiarity with American Indian and / or other minority populations preferred.
Amount of travel and any other special conditions or requirements : Occasional in-town or out-of-state travel required for trainings.
Education : Master's degree in counseling, social work, or related human service field and a minimum of two years related work experience or an equivalent combination.
Experience : Expertise in counseling, and effective therapeutic techniques required.
Skills : Excellent communication skills
Certifications & Licenses : If not licensed, must be eligible to work toward LPC, LPC-MH, MSW-PIP, or LMFT licensure.
