What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prevention Specialist position at Behavioral Health Solutions of South Texas?
Job Description:
- Conducts prevention education/skills training strategy by implementing the designated curriculum at school sites and/or community sites.
- Provide successful referrals to treatment and other support services to youth participating in curriculum services.
- Conduct information dissemination activities by implementing stand alone, age-appropriate ATOD presentations that increase knowledge or create awareness to the State’s four prevention priorities.
- Support implementation of media awareness activities in the form of marketing campaigns and social media that serve the target population and collaborate with the Statewide Prevention Media Campaign and other stakeholders to promote a consistent statewide message.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in psychology/Sociology or equivalent.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of participants/professionals in English and Spanish.
- Some travel required within service area and must have current TX driver’s license with current liability insurance
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $33,000.00 per year
