Behavioral Pediatrics of Rural Georgia is seeking an Educational Advocate for our team! This part-time role is designed for an experienced educator who is passionate about supporting parents, teachers, and schools in meeting the needs of students with special needs. This person must be able to communicate effectively with parents with a variety of backgrounds, abilities and communication styles. They should be comfortable working independently as well as in a team environment. Our multidisciplinary team is continually growing to meet the needs of southeast Georgia. Responsibilities :
- Coach parents on what accommodations are reasonable to request from a school.
- Assist teachers in better understanding the needs of our patients.
- Serve as a resource for educators to improve classroom strategies.
- Help parents prepare for and request IEP meetings (without attending them).
