Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Pediatric Dental Receptionist to join our pediatric dental practice. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and medical scheduling, as well as proficiency in relevant software systems. The Dental Receptionist will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations and maintaining patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and manage the check-in process efficiently.
- Schedule appointments and manage the dental calendar to optimize patient flow.
- Handle patient inquiries and provide information about services, procedures, and insurance coverage.
- Maintain accurate patient records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Process patient information, including medical history and insurance details, using Dentrix or similar software.
- Assist with billing and coding tasks as needed, ensuring accuracy in all transactions.
- Communicate effectively with dental staff to coordinate patient care and address any scheduling conflicts.
- File and organize patient records to maintain an orderly office environment.
- Support the team with administrative tasks as required.
Skills
- Proficiency in Dentrix or similar dental practice management software is preferred.
- Experience as a medical receptionist or in an administrative role within a healthcare setting is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient confidentiality.
- Familiarity with medical scheduling procedures and coding practices is beneficial.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish is a plus.
- Knowledge of dental terminology to facilitate clear communication with patients and staff.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for maintaining accurate records.
- Strong interpersonal skills to provide outstanding customer service to patients and their families.
